The Straits Ensemble will be performing with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra on Felix Phang's commissioned piece by Singapore Symphony Orchestra, titled "Pasat Merdu".
New Sights Fellowship Programme
New Sights Fellowship Programme is designed for composers to create new intercultural work, with a focus on the process towards creation. Fellows go through a rigorous programme of talks, performances, lectures, site visits and mentorship. They will then premiere their compositions with The Straits Ensemble and conclude the Fellowship by presenting what they have learnt at a public sharing platform.
Connecting Islands 2022
A collaboration album of 6 original Hakka songs between Dawn Wong & The Straits Ensemble and 山狗大後生樂團 from Taiwan. The bands will perform LIVE in Singapore on Sept 2nd, at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre.
